Makes you wonder about the etymology of the corporate ladder, when you can take a lift, as I imagine it is a 20th century expression when lifts were already invented. Yes, I do get the metaphorical aspect of climbing rungs and career ‘rungs’, but still… I tired doing a search on the origin of the corporate ladder but Google let me down. I got as far as page 3 of 3,840,000 and then decided life was too short.
Take the lift instead of the ladder? Absolutely! (Once again, I like the way you think.) Can we bring Frank along, or does he have too much paperwork?
I think he still has a bit more work to do. His next cartoon involves the distraction of yet another corporate initiative.
Love it!!! I’ll be joining you in the lift for sure 🙂
Plenty of room, looking forward to some intellectual company
This could be a ‘challenger’ that might blow up. I prefer a mentor that would elevate me instead.
Ha, good one.
I used to have nightmares about escalators… If you can imagine an escalator without all the supporting structure underneath… so you have a moving staircase that is floppy like a rope ladder… I had more than one nightmare about being on one of those. Even though I don’t like heights, at least in most elevators you can’t see how high you are so you can fool yourself… whereas on the escalator, you can’t help but notice!
Sorry to bring back that nightmare! I’m not a height fan either – don’t like the cliff edge, even when there is barricading
No worries… I don’t like to walk near the center part of the upper floor at shopping malls either. I like to stay as far away from the edge as I can get!
