I’m always after inspiration for a new cartoon. I loved this cartoon by Robert Black (another great Aussie cartoonist) depicting the ‘creative block’, so went for the obvious writer’s alternate.
But on the topic of ‘blocks’, what’s your tip for conquering the block?
I go for distraction and either start doodling or Google surf some of my favourite science news sites.
Another excellent site. Thank you. Love cartoons and doodling. Thanks for the link. What I do? anything and everything until the muse comes back. Eat junk food. 😛
Sounds like a great life. I love Robert’s cartoons. I met him at a recent cartoonists get together – they are all a very quirky bunch – makes me seem dull in comparison 🙂
I don’t get writer’s block so much as I get motivational problems. Sometimes procrastination wins out. 🙂
Well, next time you need motivation, drop us a line. I’ll stand (electronically) beyond you in your writer’s chair and shout words of encouragement (like us parents do at our kids sporting events) 🙂
Haha, will do. 🙂
This is what I feel like right now. Total and complete writer’s block.
Ooh, we need to put an end to that. I’d like to offer advice, but not sure what I can offer. What I do is just doodle stuff – anything, just to keep moving. Makes me feel better.
As always, the cartoon is brilliant! 🙂
This time, it’s not just because it’s out of the box, but honestly, that’s exactly how writer’s block feels for all us writers…so I can relate to it pretty well!
Maybe my next cartoon can blow up the block and we’ll all be free and live happily ever after 🙂
Yay! Free from the clutches of ‘The Block.’ at last! 😛
That does sound like a good idea, actually. 🙂
Yeah, made you 🙂
