Hunter Gatherer

By That's life

Just a quick update on the Freebie poll sent out last week. Currently an overwhelming 75% of people wanted another freebie, 25% are fence sitters and I’m pleased to report that 0% only like to pay for stuff. So, unless things change between now and Friday, I’ll be posting the 2nd freebie (remember, freebies only come out of Fridays, that’s why it’s called Friday freebie). If you missed the first Friday Freebie, click here.

Meet the Characters of Just Outside the Box Cartoon

By Website announcements

By popular demand, I’ve been requested to create a character profile page on the home menu. Check it out by clicking here.

At present it champions 3 Just Outside the Box regulars – Bill and Ben the Little Alien Men, Dave the Dot to Dot Dinosaur and Doug the Dung Beetle.  As more characters emerge, I’ll add their profile to it.

If you want to find out more about these little guys, just click that ‘Leave a reply’ box at the bottom of the post and ask a question about one of them (it’s not that hard and you might have a bit of fun by doing so – hint, hint).

Unlike my day job email in tray, I look forward to being inundated with queries for this one!

Chinese water torture for moths

By Insects

So what is it with moths hovering around your porch light at night time anyway? Check out this brief write up on the theory of moth / light attraction in The Straight Dope.

I was particularly impressed with the research techniques of Henry Hsiao, who tied cotton to the tiny legs of some poor little moth, in order to see what it did when subjected to light – all in the name of science!
