I have a match and I’m not afraid of using it

By Pot Luck

In case you’re wondering why little white flakes of dandruff are falling from the web page, fear not, it’s actually snow, aimed at celebrating the commencement of the silly season. I often wonder why Australians still persist with the whole white Christmas thing, probably tradition (and I’m guilty of it too). Even Santa gets it, that its hot Downunder for Christmas.  He changes out his reindeer for white boomers (kangaroos for international subscribers). An Australian classic song (and book) by Rolf Harris – on You Tube (Sorry for subscribers who can’t view You Tube at work, I couldn’t find a non You Tube version!)

Launching of the Freebies Page

By Website announcements

Everybody loves a freebie (well, at least I do).  So, in the spirit of giving, I’ve set up a Freebies page which I plan to add to over time. If you have a freebie idea, please leave a comment at the bottom of the Freebies page.

Remember the freebie golden rules:

  • must be downloadable from the site
  • requires minimal effort to grab your freebie (ie, it’s easy to print an A4 file, harder to print an A1 poster!)

To celebrate the launching of the Freebies page, it’s timely that the first freebie on offer is a 2012 wall calendar.

Click here to get to the Freebies page (or go to the website and look for Freebeis page in the header).

The cloak of invisibility

By Pot Luck

Whilst hunting for cartoon material I came across some publications on invisibility cloaks.  Well, who would have thought that could even be a vague possibility, but it turns out it mightn’t be as incredible as you would immediately think.  All you need are nanomaterials mixed in with a bit of nanotechnology. Check out this video.  And it’s not just Texan scientists exploring the wonders of nanotechnology. A simple Google  search will show various science teams across the globe (Germany, London, Japan, Sweden) getting in on the action. Who knows, by 2020 we’ll all be armed with a Harry Potter invisibility cloak – don’t leave home without one
