I’m missing the monthly Just Outside the Box Cartoon competitions (but as I said, I’m frantically working on some other projects which I promise to share with you shortly), so I drew this cartoon in memory of the last August competition.

Remember the recent Higgs boson discovery cartoon? This was a follow up cartoon involving our characters of the month – the evil pink aliens.
Have you not entered the August Name the Evil Pink Aliens Competition yet?
Well the good news is that you still have time left, as it closes this Friday.
The bad news (What, there’s bad news? I thought I’d subscribed to a fun-loving cartoon website) is that we’ll be taking a break from the monthly competition for a while. Don’t miss out. Click now.
Come, join the bandwagon and enter the Name the pink aliens with purple spots and fluffy feathers August competition.
I’m not sure how prolific the ‘My Family’ car stickers are world-wide, but at a guess they infest about 1 in every 5 cars here in Melbourne. Infest – yes, a touch harsh. I initially fell in love with these cute cartoon characters the first time I saw them (How couldn’t I? They are cartoons after all). But for me now, they’ve become common and no longer quirky and hence an obvious cartoon subject for my evil pink aliens. Maybe I should come out with a rival company called Evil Pink Aliens (probably not as commercial).
Stay tuned, the evil pink aliens with purple spots and fluffy feathers are the subject of our August competition. To get warmed up, take a look at the first two wickedly evil activities these pink aliens got up to.
I promised last time I posted the first of the ‘Evil Aliens’, I’d come back sometime later to answer the question I posed – Can you guess 2 scientific errors in the making of this cartoon? True to form, the smart readers out there not only came up with my answers, but also some of their own (see comments section on original post).
My two thoughts were:
It was time for some new aliens – evil ones – dressed is hot pink with bright purple feathers and a cigarette hanging half out their mouth.
And did you know Jupiter is a giant gas planet? I used to think all planets were just giant rocks, some with water if you were lucky like earth. Jupiter is made up predominantly of hydrogen (about 90%) and helium (9%) with a few sprinklings of some other elements.
And for those scientifically minded people out there, I know there are some errors in science within the making of this cartoon, but hey, that’s what’s great cartooning is all about – bending of the truth!
So, here’s the puzzle for the day. I can think of 2 obvious scientific errors – can you guess what they are? (I’ll post the answer, next time I post the adventures of these two new characters)
