Got a parking ticket a while back. I ‘stood’ in a No Standing for 20 seconds. They’ve become so cunning these days, I received the ticket along with a digital photo of my passenger disembarking the car, just to prove I was ‘standing’.
I must admit, I’m really surprised this is new to some countries. Obviously our ticket inspectors have found a meaningful way of remaining employees – more signs to catch people out!
If it had said, ‘no stopping’, then I could see the ticket. But ‘no standing’ areas allow dropping off passengers. At least in New York City.
Mmmm, maybe I’ve been diddled by an over zealous ticket inspector – too late now 🙁
A ticket for standing? Yikes, that’s one sneaky way to get more city funds!

No standing, what’s next? One of these days the alien sign will drop this sign in Vancouver.
Obviously, this no standing concept is an Australian invention. I assumed it was everywhere. don’t worry, the secret is safe here for now
