Grow chart

I fondly look back at the early days when both my daughters were young and keen to get measured using the door frame to record the results.  Standing on tippy toes was a trick both tried regularly. I could laugh at the time because for me there was no competition…yet. However, I knew the time would come that they would surpass me and surpass me they did this year. At the tender ages of 13 and 15 they now tower over their tiny 5 ‘7″ mother. However, I’m not the shortest in the family. Our pet golden retriever Ollie will always be the shortest. 🙂

What height stories do you have?

Adore the tongue Marti! I’m short and I reckon it isn’t going to be that long before my currently 9-year old son overtakes me. If you trust the predictions of height you can make from toddler heights, he’s set to be 6’1″ so he’s going to tower over me!!!

Although I’m shorter than my kids, I can still outdo them on height in a stiletto. Luckily for me they are Tom boys and can’t bring themselves to compete in my petty games 🙂

  • I remember a boy in grade school who was much taller than the rest of us. We didn’t stay in touch, so I was surprised to see him years later as an adult no more than 5′-10″. I like the look on the parent snake.

Yes, it’s funny when you view things as an adult. Kids have a distorted sense of many things and when you see it again as an adult, it makes you fully appreciate change and individual perspectives.
PS. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
